I have to say that I was pretty skeptical about this monitor. I mean, really, isn't one just as good as another? Well, that is not the case. I have always seen these monitors and noticed that the video is always passable, but never truly that good. It is always grainy and while you can make out what your looking at, the details are always dull and often very poor when there is any motion. That is what I went into this purchase expecting. I can't begin to tell you how excited and stoked I am that this is not the case at all!
First, the feature that I wanted most was the Two-Way Talk. Being able to hear what is going on often leaves you feeling extremely helpless, especially when most of the time it really doesn't require you going into the room. Most of the time you know that if you could only offer some comforting tones or even some direction, everything would be fine and you would not be feeding into always being in the room. This also works in the most epic way when you need to talk to someone upstairs and don't want to run up the stairs to find whoever you need. The audio in this monitor is crystal clear and I've never noticed any static. I have gone all over my 4,600+sqf home and 1/3 acre lot and it has always been exceptional.
Along with this, this monitor has a feature I have never heard of. It has a volume limit feature that activates once the volume hits a certain level. That means that normal room noise or "happy" talk will not be picked up when this feature is active. That way you are not always being bothered for every coo, babble of fan noise that may happen. What it does is that once the noise reached the level that indicates distress, the system kicks on and you can hear with full clarity. SO USEFUL!!!! I love this feature and it is one that I can't live without anymore.
The next feature I really needed was the Infrared Night mode. The last monitor I owned had this feature, but it always looked like I was looking through muddy water. Again, you can tell what you see, but sometimes you really had to strain. This monitor features a night mode that has some of the best resolution I have seen on anything like this. It is so useful to be able to see in the dark, especially when it is the middle of the night and something needs your attention. Also, the distance you can see is phenomenal and I have never had an issue with not being able to see in any room at any level of darkness. Again, amazing!
