I love this-- it's great quality and it does work for inhibiting hair growth. I'd recommend what my dermatologist recommended: three times a week (three passes each time) for a month (two times a week (three passes each time) for the next month, then once a week for a month (three passes each use) and finally about once a month for maintenance.
I did my underarms during an IPL study (with a home device the study gave me to use) about 10 years ago, and I still have no hair growth there with the once a month maintenance.
THis machine is easy to hold, very comfortable. The flash is strong, you can feel it but I have really gotten used to that snapping sensation (similar to home laser device).
I use IPL everywhere (Mideastern descent) and it really does work. This one is a strong and capable machine.

Treatment in the privacy of your own home
The Babonir IPL Hair Removal device is sleek and solid and easy to use. I have been using it for a few weeks and believe that I am starting to see a difference in my treated hair follicles, with the hair growing back finer and less quickly (I will edit my review in the future if I find that it is actually not effective and I am just imagining it - I have had the device a while now, so wanted to share my initial thoughts rather than waiting for the whole recommended regimen which will take quite some time because you have to wait for repeat phases of follicular growth cycles). The various sized heads allow for better control over where you are directing the light pulses, making it easy to treat smaller and larger areas, although larger areas such as the legs require some patience and time to fully treat. Luckily the lamp lasts for a very high number of flashes. I have fair skin and darker body hair even though I am a ginger on my head, so I am the ideal candidate; some darker skin tones are contraindicated for safety and comfort and those with red body hair will find it ineffective, per the manufacturer information.I do feel a mild sting and will smell a burnt hair smell, particularly if I hit an area where I did not shave down the hair before use, but I do do not find it to burn or really hurt. Sometimes after use I will feel a residual warmth for a few hours in the treatment areas, less than a very minor sunburn, but I am using the device on the very highest level. It is not painful, I can just feel a minor irritation. Only a few times have I experienced any redness and it was very mild and did not require any treatment to make it subside. I find that the device can be a little finicky when using the manual mode, because I like to move fast so I am probably not aligning it as carefully as it would like (not a bad thing for safety really) so I turn it to auto and it will pulse as soon as I have it moved to the next spot (tip: pick it up slightly and place it down at the next spot so it knows you have moved it and it will pulse faster).I have found this to be a well crafted device, which is much more convenient, comfortable and cost effective than treatments by a professional. Because it is an at-home treatment and they want it to be safe, you have to have reasonable expectations as to how quickly it will work. So far, so good!
